Pastoral Womens Council

This goal focuses on enhancing the well-being of pastoralist women by addressing issues related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and hygiene. The goal acknowledges the connection between SRH and other aspects of women’s lives, such as education, economic empowerment, and leadership participation. Early forced marriages and childbirth contribute to personal suffering and the cycle of poverty within pastoralist communities. Lack of Reproductive Health Services (RHS) is recognized as a barrier to achieving other goals.

The approaches we use

– Awareness raising
– Working with traditional birth attendants
– mobile health clinics
